Several years ago (circa 2006) I created this information graphic depicting the progression of processor speeds as defined by Moore’s Law. According to Wikipedia, Moore’s Law states that the number of transistors in computing hardware that can be replaced inexpensively on an integrated circuit will double approximately every two years. The law has been sustained more than half a century, and is expected to continue until approximately 2020.
I’ve always been inspired by great information graphics, and have set some standards to aspire to in my career.
With new developments in HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, and SVG, designers like myself are able to take information graphics to a whole new level.
I am hoping to explore the next stage of information graphics (what is now called data visualization with the new generation of content creators) with tools such as Raphael, Polymaps, and Highcharts JS (to name a few).
Take a look at my information graphics gallery here.
